We have presented three solo exhibitions and one group exhibition within a single gallery space from May 23 to June 6, 2026, in celebration of Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month.
First-generation immigrants who came in pursuit of the American Dream were met not only with hope and opportunity, but also with the challenges of loneliness and fear. However, the emotional and cultural experiences of second-generation immigrants carry a distinct resonance from those of the first generation. Shaped by different environments, languages, and social contexts, their identities often exist at the intersection of cultures—at times rooted in one world, while simultaneously moving across another.
Likewise, those shaped by international study and other diverse cultural backgrounds carry their own distinct emotional landscapes, often serving as bridges between cultures and creating new possibilities for connection and understanding.
Through their works, the participating artists articulate personal narratives that reflect their roots, cultural backgrounds, and inner landscapes. These narratives are not isolated expressions, but shared gestures that open space for dialogue across communities and generations.
Beginning with individual experience, the exhibition expands toward collective resonance, exploring the potential for connection between cultures, identities, and generations. It reflects on how Asian American and Pacific Islander identities are continuously formed, negotiated, and reimagined within contemporary society.
Installed as a unified presentation within a single gallery, the exhibition creates a layered structure in which three solo exhibitions and one group exhibition coexist, allowing individual voices and collective narratives to intersect.
Ultimately, In Between / Intersection becomes a space where memory and presence converge—where boundaries soften, and new forms of cultural and emotional connection emerge.
The exhibition opening will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026, from 2pm to 4pm at 5151 Romaine St., Los Angeles, CA 90029 (Romaine St. & Harvard Blvd).
